L-bracket uses & ideas

One bracket. A hundred jobs.

A 2-inch slot means you set it, slide it level, then lock it. No second hole, no crooked shelf. Scroll, and watch it work: five jobs in plain sight, then five where it disappears.

  1. Anchor
  2. Slide
  3. Lock
01 · Shelves

Level on a wall that isn’t.

The second hole came out low. With fixed holes you'd drill again. Here you slide the bracket up until the bubble's centred. Try it.

ADJUSTING
8 pack · enough for four shelves
02 · Signs & displays

Straight where customers look.

Rest the sign on the short legs and slide until it's square. Hold a level upright on the edge and the plumb bubble tells you. Then lock it and fix it through the anchor holes.

8 pack · a sign or two, with spares
03 · Conduit & cable

One line, wherever the holes landed.

Set a laser, put a screw in each slot and slide every bracket to the line. The run comes out straight.

50 pack · a bracket every few feet
04 · Fences

Lift the rail back to true.

A rail that's dropped at the post rides back up on the bracket. Galvanized, so it's fine outdoors: rust resistant, not rust proof.

24 pack · two per rail end
05 · Adjustable reach

Two brackets, one adjustable arm.

Screw one flat to the wall, lay a second on top, bolt through both slots and slide it out to the reach you need.

8 pack · four adjustable arms

06 · Hidden jobs

The slot does the leveling. Then it disappears.

Same screw, two inches of play: the bracket slides on it until the job sits level. In the next four, the bracket ends up where nobody sees it.

8 pack · eight jobs’ worth of play
07 · Whiteboards & signs

Level, with nothing showing.

Level the brackets on the wall, glue a strip of 1×2 across the back of the board, sit it on the tabs and screw up through each tab hole. The brackets vanish behind it.

8 pack · four boards
08 · Big art

Hang it level. Hide how.

The tabs slip in behind the canvas’s top stretcher bar. Slide each bracket until the picture hangs dead level. No second nail hole.

8 pack · four pictures
09 · Picture ledges

A level ledge, so the frames are too.

The top board sits on the tabs and screws up through them; a front board covers the brackets, and a lip keeps the frames from sliding.

8 pack · four ledges
10 · Tabletops

Room for the wood to move.

Screw the slotted leg up into the top and the tab into the apron. As a solid-wood top swells and shrinks with the seasons, the screw rides in the slot instead of splitting the top. (Movement shown larger than life.)

24 pack · three or four tables
