What brackets level a shelf on a crooked garage wall?
Slotted L-brackets. Screw each one through its slot into a stud, or into anchors made for block, set the shelf on the short legs, then slide the low bracket up until the level reads true. Tighten the slot screws and screw up through the short legs into the shelf. BINKIN’s galvanized bracket is made in the USA.
Why a slotted bracket
Level on any wall
Stud walls, block walls, old garages: the slot takes up whatever is off.
Move it, do not patch it
Raise a shelf a little for a taller bin: loosen, slide, tighten.
Cheap enough to use plenty
From about 40¢ a bracket, so a long shelf gets a bracket in the middle too.
How a garage shelf goes up
- Find what you are fastening intoStuds hold best. On block, use masonry anchors; on drywall away from studs, anchors made for the load.
- Snug through the slotScrew each bracket through its slot, short leg out, so it holds but can slide.
- Shelf and levelRest the shelf on the short legs, set a level on top and slide the low bracket up until it reads true.
- Lock itTighten the slot screws, then screw up through each short leg into the shelf.

Where it gets used
- Light storage shelves
- Tool and cleat rails
- Small cabinets and bins
- Workbench shelves
- Furniture and fence repairs
For light storage. Heavy loads like paint cans by the dozen, tyres or anything overhead belong on load-rated shelving. How much a small bracket holds depends far more on the screws and what they go into than on the steel.
Which pack
About 54¢ a bracket. Shelving, cabinets, weekend builds.
About 46¢ a bracket, for shelves, rails and fixes.
Questions people ask
How many brackets does a garage shelf need?
At least two, and add one in the middle of a long shelf: slide it up until it just meets the shelf, then lock it. Heavy storage belongs on load-rated shelving.
Will they rust in a garage?
They are galvanized, which resists rust in damp garages and sheds. Rust resistant is not rust proof, so somewhere constantly wet or salty will shorten their life.
Can I mount them on a concrete block wall?
Yes, with masonry anchors made for block. The slot still lets you level them after the anchors are in.
Are BINKIN brackets made in the USA?
Yes. BINKIN brackets are made in the USA, from galvanized steel.
